Effective box performance can therefore differ materially from a fresh center-of-panel conductivity value. Gas or moisture entering the envelope over time can degrade insulation, while a puncture or seal failure can cause a much faster loss. A passive VIP container has no powered refrigeration or feedback controller. Its temperature behavior comes from starting conditions and the balance between environmental heat flow and the thermal capacity inside. A route profile should cover the entire time outside the approved storage condition.
