COOLANT FOR COLD CHAIN TEMPERATURE-CONTROL PACKAGE
01 Coolant Introduction
Coolant, as the name suggests, it is a liquid substance used to store cold, it must have the ability to store coldness. There is a substance in nature that is a good coolant, that is water. It is well known that water will freeze in winter when the temperature is below 0 °C. Actually，the freezing process is that liquid water is transformed into solid water in the storage of cold energy. During this process, the temperature of the ice-water mixture will remain at 0°C until the water completely changes into ice, at which time the cold storage of water ends. When the outside temperature of the formed ice is higher than 0°C, the ice will absorb the heat of the environment and gradually dissolve into water. During the process of dissolving, the temperature of the ice-water mixture is always 0°C until the ice is completely melted into water. At this time, the cold energy stored in the water has been released.
In the above process of mutual transformation between ice and water, the temperature of ice water mixture is always at 0 ℃ and will last for a certain time. This is because water is a phase change material at 0 ℃, which is characterized by phase change. The liquid becomes solid (exothermic) , the solid becomes liquid (endothermic), and the temperature will not change for a certain period of time at the phase change point during the phase change (that is, it will continuously absorb or release a large amount of heat within a certain period of time).
The most common application of phase change coolant in our daily life is the “preservation” of fruits, vegetables and fresh food. These food are easy to deteriorate under high ambient temperature. In order to prolong the freshness ，we can use phase change coolant to adjust the ambient temperature to achieve the effect of temperature control and preservation:
02 Application of Cold Coolant
For fruits, vegetables and fresh food requiring 0~8 ℃ cold storage, the coolant ice packs shall be frozen at -7 ℃ for at least 12 hours (to ensure that the coolant ice packs are fully frozen) before distribution. During distribution, the coolant ice packs and food shall be placed in the cooler box together.The use of ice packs depends on the size of the cooler box and the insulation duration. The larger the box is and the longer the insulation duration is, the more ice packs will be used. The general operation process is as follows:
03 Application of Frozen Coolant
For frozen fresh food requiring 0 ℃ cold storage, the refrigerated ice packs shall be frozen at -18 ℃ for at least 12 hours (to ensure that the refrigerated ice packs are fully frozen) before distribution. During distribution, the refrigerated ice packs and food shall be placed in the incubator together.The use of ice packs depends on the size of the cooler box and the insulation duration. The larger the cooler box is and the longer the insulation duration is, the more ice packs will be used. The general operation process is as follows:
04 Coolant Composition & Suggestions for Usage

In October 2021, in order to provide better service for customers, conduct research on Phase Change Memory technology, and verify temperature-controlled packaging solutions, the company’s R&D center was relocated from the Shanghai factory to an independent office building. The new R&D center covers an area of 1,100 square meters and is mainly divided into comprehensive laboratories, show rooms, office areas, and leisure areas. The new R&D center laboratory is established according to CNAS and ISTA standards, equipped with advanced instruments and equipment, such as DSC differential scanning calorimeter, 1/100,000 precision balance, 30 cubic meter climate chamber and so on.

The Dragon Boat Festival also known as Duan Yang Festival,Double Fifth Festival and Tianzhong Festival is Chinese traditional festival.It is a collection of worship, ancestor worship, prayer to ward off bad luck celebrating entertainment and diet.There is a legend about an ancient Chinese poet named Qu Yuan, suicide on that day.After that day,it became to memorize Qu Yuan.While there are other legends that were told to memorize Wuzixu,Cao e or Jiezitui.
There are many traditional customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, such as dragon boat racing, drinking realgar wine which are widely spread.But having zongzi is a deep-rooted custom for every chinese.
Zongzi which also alias “Angle millet” and “tube reed” has rich variety.In the north of China,the northerns usually package zongzi with jujube. It means “Early” in Chines,people make wishes that their children could get high score early.In the south, the southerns usually package zongzi with bean, pork, chestnut , ham, eggs and so on.
Generally, the Dragon Boat Festival is rushing in May and June.Most parts of China have entered the state of early summer, temperature roses and fresh corruption rate will be intensified.How to ensure the freshness of zongzi, the process from the production to the meal table is important.
